Xenon Pharmaceuticals Inc. seeks a Director, Medical Information to build and scale the MI function supporting Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial launch readiness.

The role is based in Boston, MA with a hybrid schedule and requires collaboration across Legal, PV/DS, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure compliant, timely medical information for Xenon’s products and pipeline. The successful candidate will lead content management, inquiry handling, and digital information

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent advanced scientific degree.
• 7+ years of management experience in Medical Affairs with significant Medical Information experience.
• Experience leading Medical Information functions in pre-commercial or commercial environments.
• Expertise in scientific response content authoring, inquiry management, and MLR review processes.
• Experience engaging with/ managing MI contact centers and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Operationalize the end-to-end vision, strategy, and execution of the Medical Information function, including contact center operations, digital capabilities, and scientific content management.
• Build scalable operating models for MI, including SOPs, workflows, and governance in partnership with Legal, Compliance, PV/DS, Quality, Clin Dev, and Med Affairs.
• Refine and execute processes for authoring and lifecycle management of Standard Response Letters (SRLs) and scientific content, ensuring accuracy and alignment with data and regulations.
• Support MI alignment with omnichannel delivery and self-service portals.
• Execute and manage MI contact center capability build including vendor selection, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Oversight of MI vendors (contact center, content support), including training, QA, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage a Medical Information portal for compliant, self-service access to approved content.
• Monitor and report on budget/resource utilization and operational risks.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Scientific Communications to ensure alignment of scientific messaging.
• Ensure high-quality, accurate responses and maintain a robust content library.
• Advance MI materials through MLR review processes with timely approvals and compliance.
• Deliver timely, empathetic, patient-centered communications.
• Day-to-day management of contact center vendor and escalation processes for compliant handling of inquiries.
• Partner with PV/DS and Quality to ensure AE/PC identification, reporting and reconciliation.
• Travel up to 15-20% domestically and internationally as needed.
