Job summary

Encoded Therapeutics, Inc. seeks a Director, Medical Affairs to lead medical strategy for early-stage gene therapy programs, reporting to the VP Clinical/Medical Affairs.

This role emphasizes external engagement and cross-functional collaboration to align clinical insights, communication, education, and data dissemination with medical professionals. The incumbent will build KOL networks, shape trial design and endpoint development, and manage internal relationships across Clinical Development,

Qualifications

• MD, PhD, or MD/PhD in a relevant scientific or clinical discipline.
• Minimum 4–6+ years in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or Medical Strategy (MD/MD-PhD) or 5–8+ years (PhD) with leadership.
• 2–3 years supporting Phase 1–3 clinical development.
• Experience engaging Key Opinion Leaders and external experts.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement strategic plans for ETX301 pain program with cross-functional teams.
• Develop relationships with patient advocacy groups and KOLs to guide trial design and enrollment.
• Lead scientific communications and messaging for disease states and MOA.
• Collaborate on budgeting, vendor management, and timely material delivery.
• Represent Encoded at conferences, advisory boards, and investigator meetings.
