Overview:
The Director, Media Relations will lead media relations for brands in our Imbibe & Dine practice, covering beer, wine & spirits, food & beverage, and restaurants. Responsibilities include developing media strategies, securing coverage, and enhancing cultural relevance across platforms. You will build press relationships, craft story angles, guide media outreach, mentor junior staff, contribute to new business, and provide media training. Food & beverage experience is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support brands in our Imbibe & Dine practice, which includes beer, wine & spirits, food & beverage, and restaurant clients.
  • Insert clients into culturally relevant media conversations.
  • Develop compelling media angles and identify storytelling opportunities across traditional and emerging media.
  • Drive media strategies and collaborate with the account team for execution.
  • Provide strategic input on campaign plans, share insights, and build media lists, press releases, and briefing documents.
  • Cultivate and expand media relationships, networking both virtually and in person.
  • Manage proactive and reactive media relations.
  • Mentor and train junior staff in media relations strategies and skills.
  • Stay updated on industry news and trends to inform strategies and pitch ideas.
  • Collaborate with the Media Team on industry POVs and media learnings.
  • Participate in new business opportunities and mentorship programs.
  • Join client calls as a media trends expert and train spokespeople for media interviews.
