ICSC is seeking a Director of Marketing Design in New York City, reporting to the VP, Brand & Creative Strategy. The role leads the brand and marketing design across channels, translating business goals into compelling visual storytelling while ensuring consistency and high impact.

You’ll manage projects from conception through production, guiding teams and stakeholders, and staying current with design trends and AI-enabled tools to elevate the brand and engagement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Visual Communications, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in design, brand design and marketing, or a related design role, preferably in a corporate environment with creative leadership experience.
  • 3-5 years managing projects and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in creating and reviewing materials.
  • Strong project management skills and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while efficiently and effectively managing competing priorities.
  • Understanding of branding, including brand strategy, positioning, visual design, typography, layout, and the role of design in building brand equity.
  • Experience designing across print and digital channels, including large scale environmental.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and related design tools. Skilled in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Visual design skills, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to create unique and impactful designs. Portfolio required.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate concepts and strategy effectively.
  • Knowledge of the commercial real estate industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute compelling creative concepts that align with brand strategy and business objectives.
  • Design and produce a wide range of marketing and event assets across digital and print, including but not limited to social, web, event environmental, and presentations.
  • Provide design and marketing support to team leadership for company-wide programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure creative excellence, design standards and consistency across all marketing materials.
  • Optimize creative assets based on campaign performance and audience insights.
  • Support brand storytelling through strong visual concepts, typography, layout, imagery selection, and creative execution.
  • Stay current on design trends, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled creative tools to continuously improve outcomes.
  • Manage marketing projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality execution, and prioritization.
  • Develop production timelines for each project. Hold department heads accountable to project goals, objectives and budget.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making ability and relevant professional experience to independently assess situations, solve problems, and determine appropriate actions.
  • Act as a strategic creative advisor, helping teams develop effective visual communication strategies.
  • Present creative concepts and rationale to stakeholders and incorporate feedback effectively.
  • Collaborate in the development of integrated marketing campaigns across all channels.
  • Drive innovation in design, storytelling, and customer engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate the brand through innovative design approaches and creative solutions.
  • Champion the visual identity and creative direction of the brand while working towards its evolution.

Job description

This position is hybrid and based out of our New York City office reporting to the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.

Reporting to the VP, Brand & Creative Strategy, the Director, Marketing Design will lead the creative vision, execution, and management of brand and marketing design across channels through a combination of brand strategy, business goals, and creative expertise, ensuring that marketing communications are visually compelling, consistent, and effective. As a member of the Marketing team, they will will be responsible for overseeing and executing the development of creative design solutions that support brand awareness, promote initiatives, engage event attendees, and grow membership. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on design expertise, translating business objectives into compelling visual storytelling that strengthens brand awareness, supports marketing goals, and enhances customer engagement.

The successful candidate is highly organized, creative individual with strong graphic design skills, excellent attention to detail, writing abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects, varying deadlines and stakeholders.

Please note that visual design skills, with a strong portfolio demonstrating an ability to create unique and impactful designs is required.
