Veeam is seeking a visionary and results-drivenDirector, Marketing AI Strategistto lead the transformation of our marketing organization through the strategic adoption of artificial intelligence. This senior-level role will be instrumental in helping our company navigate the fast-changing AI landscape and position our outbound marketing efforts at the cutting edge of innovation.

As the Director of AI Strategy, you will serve as a thought leader and strategist, guiding the integration of AI across our outbound marketing operations—including campaign automation, personalization, customer segmentation, content generation, search optimization, media buying, and performance analytics. You’ll partner with cross-functional leaders to embed AI-first thinking across teams, build key capabilities, and ensure our marketing strategy is agile, data-informed, and future-ready.

You will also own the development and execution of a robust content strategy tailored for Large Language Model Operations (LLMOs), ensuring Veeam’s content is discoverable, relevant, and optimized for AI-powered channels, including generative search and chatbot interfaces.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a marketing-wide AI-first strategy aligned with business goals and future customer engagement trends.
  • Identify and evaluate AI technologies, platforms, and tools that will reshape outbound marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to the CMO and other executives on the role of AI in marketing.
  • Define and champion a comprehensive content strategy for LLMOs, ensuring all digital content is structured, formatted, and enriched for optimal consumption, interpretation, and visibility by large language models and AI-powered search systems.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate AI into core marketing processes such as lead generation, content creation, campaign management, and marketing automation.
  • Drive the initiative to optimize Veeam visibility in search based on AIOs and LLM chatbots and evolving AI methods.
  • Work with data science and marketing analytics teams to deploy machine learning models that improve targeting, personalization, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with MarTech and IT teams to ensure scalable and ethical AI adoption.
  • Oversee prompt engineering and content curation practices to maximize Veeam’s brand and product visibility in LLM-driven environments.
  • Partner with content, SEO, and digital teams to ensure all assets (web, blog, product, support) are discoverable, contextually rich, and compliant with LLM and AIO requirements.
  • Develop frameworks for ongoing content evaluation and optimization, leveraging AI analytics to inform editorial direction and content refresh cycles.
  • Design and lead internal education and enablement programs to ensure marketing teams are equipped to work effectively in an AI-first environment.
  • Establish governance frameworks to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI in marketing campaigns.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.
  • Define key success metrics to measure the impact of AI-driven marketing strategies on business outcomes (e.g., ROI, conversion rates, engagement).

Use AI-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and optimize campaign performance in real-time.

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, strategy, or marketing operations, with 5+ years in a leadership role focused on innovation or transformation.
  • Deep knowledge of AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, machine learning, natural language processing) and their application in marketing.
  • Proven success driving AI or data-driven transformation within a marketing function.
  • 2+ years experience in transforming web and content strategy to optimize for AIOs and LLM chatbots.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing content strategies that optimize for AIOs and LLM chatbots, including content structuring, prompt engineering, and data annotation.
  • Strong understanding of outbound marketing channels (email, paid media, content syndication, ABM, etc.) and how AI can disrupt and enhance them.
  • Experience working with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo), analytics tools, and MarTech stacks.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong innovation mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS in AI/Data Science) a plus.

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), which is inclusive of base and variable pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.

$187,000 — $267,100 USD
