About the role
Reporting to the Vice President of Global Sourcing (Indirect), the Director of Market Data Sourcing is responsible for gathering and analyzing information about the market, key suppliers, and industry trends to develop our global strategies for this category that support our sourcing decisions, contract negotiations, and procurement processes. This role will partner and collaborate with AIG’s strategic suppliers and senior leaders across business functions, IT, Finance, and Operations to ensure overall alignment and robust governance of strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
Own all aspects of complex strategic sourcing processes and relationships for the Market Data category
Lead a team of sourcing professionals to develop robust strategies for key suppliers focused on cost reduction, supplier accountability and partnership
Drive the Market Data forum to manage the Demand for key suppliers and to better anticipate future demand and aggregate spend for buying efficiency and consolidated negotiations
Plan and execute large, complex RFP’s and facilitating stakeholder inputs and involvement and following a robust source board process for key deals
Effectively interface with all levels of within the firm and ensure sourcing processes are completed in a manner that is consistent with AIG’s acquisition policy
Develop and execute a global strategy and framework to partner / evolve relationships with strategic suppliers
Integrate SRM program objectives across GS&PS, business stakeholders and global functions, including Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Audit, HR, and Insurance groups
Identify and Assess compliance risks and innovative opportunities through business reviews
Execute program initiatives including effective routines to mitigate risks and drive results, robust reporting cadences and change management practices
Leverage supplier performance to address potential issues and operational risks ensuring alignment of suppliers with AIG’s evolving business goals
Lead key activities including the coordination and development of Supplier Quarterly Business Reviews, Satisfaction Surveys, Segmentation and Symposiums
Partner with business stakeholders to measure supplier’s contribution, service levels, breaches, and document / monitor plans to remedy and improve performance
Perform supplier audits to actively review and measure policy / contract compliance
Research and identify suppliers based on experience in the market within the Market Data category space to adapt to objectives or to streamline costs
Provide strategic leadership with respect to the development, alignment, and execution of SRM objectives to drive change and deliver on transformation gaining competitive advantage and added value to both parties
Prepare Executive Briefings, construct and deliver presentations tailored to targeted audiences including the Executive Leadership team
Provide leadership in a manner that contributes to a culture built on principles of innovation, collaboration, client focus, continuous improvement, and empowerment
Drive market analysis, peer to peer industry benchmarking and networking to ensure best in class practices
Provide support as needed across the global GS&PS team
Requirements
BA/BS in Supply Chain Management/Business/Finance or related field required
10+ years of extensive industry experience and working knowledge of the Market Data category/supply base
Effective risk and control stakeholder management
Strong understanding of cost, risk, and service parameters
Experience managing performance of large/strategic third-party suppliers
Cross-functional leadership in an environment of change with a focus on innovation, collaboration, client focus, continuous improvement, and empowerment
Results-oriented, Strong Collaborative Skills, Positive Attitude, High Energy
Comfort/familiarity with constructing presentations, organization communications, and business cases
Strong ability to build relationships and networks with multiple functions and at all levels within the organization
Data driven with strong influencing skills and proven track record aligning stakeholders and team members to project outcomes delivering value
Change leadership, business acumen and strategic thinking in a highly matrixed, complex organization
Demonstrated ability in building, managing, and leading global in-person and virtual teams
Serve as a role model by demonstrating a commitment to AIG’s values, high performance standards, workplace diversity and driving results
For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $150,000 - $162,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
