GSK remains committed to achieving bold commercial ambitions for the future. By 2031, we aim to deliver £40 billion in annual sales, leveraging our existing strong performance momentum to significantly increase our positive impact on the health of billions of patients globally. Our Ahead Together strategy is centered on early intervention to prevent and alter the course of disease, thereby protecting people and supporting healthcare systems. Our diverse portfolio consists of vaccines, specialty medicines, and general medicines. Through continuous innovation and a dedicated focus on scientific and technical excellence, we strive to develop and launch new, groundbreaking treatments that address critical health challenges. The Director, Market Access Digital & Technology is a senior technology leadership role accountable for the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of GSK's enterprise Market Access commercial technology portfolio in the US. The role owns end-to-end product and technology accountability across the full spectrum of Market Access business processes (pricing, contracting, rebate, channel, gross-to-net, government pricing, and direct commerce operations) and serves as the primary US accountability anchor for the teams, Strategic Partners, and resources that support them. The Director is the digital business partner to US Market Access Contract Operations leadership: advising, recommending, and delivering against objectives the business owns, while setting the technical direction the US business depends on. The role exists to make the Market Access technology landscape a dependable, compliant, and increasingly automated foundation for the US business, and to build the team and governance that keep it that way. Success is measured by full compliance, fewer manual handoffs, fewer errors, a faster and cleaner close, lower run cost, successful audits, and realized value from AI and automation. The role owns the Market Access applications and the source-system data that originates in them. Analytics, BI, and data-science and AI/ML model development sit with the Market Access Analytics teams, which this role supplies with reliable source data and domain understanding.
Strategy and business partnership
Technology strategy and roadmap: Define and drive the technology strategy and roadmap for the US Market Access commercial technology portfolio, translating complex business processes (account management, pricing, rebate management, government pricing, gross-to-net, and channel operations) into clear technology investment priorities aligned with GSK's commercial strategy, compliance requirements, and AI transformation ambitions.
Business partnership: Act as trusted advisor and service partner to US Market Access leadership, engaged early in business planning, anticipating needs and bringing options ahead of demand.
Portfolio and demand governance: Establish and chair the governance forum for Market Access applications and operations, where priorities and trade-offs are decided and recorded; maintain a single, current portfolio view of Market Access digital activity with a formal demand intake; and represent Market Access operational systems in enterprise data and AI demand‑prioritization forums.
Launch and business change readiness: Ensure technology readiness for new product launches, indication expansions, and business development or integration activity affecting US Market Access processes.
Platforms, architecture, and data
Target‑state architecture: Own the target‑state architecture and lifecycle of the Market Access technology landscape, including revenue‑management platform integration and decommissioning, cloud and data platform decisions, and integration with ERP and finance systems, in partnership with Enterprise Architecture.
Favor shared platforms and configuration over custom code, keep SaaS platforms on supported versions, and plan for obsolescence across the platform lifecycle.
Source‑system data ownership: Own the source systems and the data originating in them (definitions, quality rules, lineage, and ownership) and their reliable delivery into enterprise data platforms for analytics, reporting, and AI consumption.
Government pricing and gross‑to‑net: Own the technology for government price calculation and filing (Medicaid, 340B, VA/FSS, and TRICARE) and for gross‑to‑net estimation and accrual, driving accuracy, transparency, auditability, and speed of close.
Contract and offer automation: Move contracting, offer, and rebate management to digital‑first workflows and eliminate remaining manual handoffs, applying judgment about where automation removes effort rather than relocating it.
AI and agentic transformation: Lead the agentic and AI‑native transformation of Market Access commercial processes, driving adoption and ensuring responsible, compliant deployment aligned with GSK's AI strategy.
Investment and financial management
Technology investment and budget: Own technology investment planning and the annual operating and capital budget for the portfolio, building business cases with Finance and Commercial leadership and prioritizing and funding the highest‑value capabilities.
Financial governance: Own the full financial cycle (annual build, monthly forecast, accrual and purchase‑order discipline, variance, and resource allocation across internal and partner teams), land the year within agreed tolerance, and maintain a consolidated, transparent view of total digital investment supporting US Market Access.
Value realization: Track realized value after go‑live and deliver an annual productivity commitment through total‑cost‑of‑ownership reduction and vendor and licence rationalization.
Team, vendors, and delivery
Team leadership: Manage and develop a high‑performing team of AI Product Managers and technology leads across blended internal and outsourced resources, providing coaching, career development, and performance management, and set clear objectives, standards, and accountability.
Capability and succession: Build technical and functional strength, remove single‑person dependency on business‑critical systems and knowledge, and own succession for key roles.
Strategic Partner governance: Own Strategic Partner governance and the product operating model for Market Access commercial platforms (accountability frameworks, SLA structures, agile delivery cadences, run‑versus‑change balance, and release governance), and hold partners, including revenue‑management platform vendors and systems integrators, to committed outcomes and commercial terms.
Outside‑in perspective: Benchmark against peers and best‑in‑class practice to keep the portfolio, operating model, and vendor terms competitive.
Escalation: Serve as the senior US escalation point for technology incidents, compliance risks, regulatory filing timelines, and cross‑functional dependencies across the Market Access portfolio.
Compliance, risk, and reporting
Audit readiness and control environment: Keep the portfolio compliant and audit‑ready, including government price reporting obligations, SOX‑relevant IT general controls, system validation and documentation, access management and segregation of duties, data privacy, and third‑party and AI risk assessments, partnering with Legal, Compliance, and Internal Audit.
Regulatory framework: Maintain working command of the legal and compliance framework governing US Market Access, including OIG guidance, the anti‑kickback statute, and HIPAA, and reflect it in system design, controls, and access.
No‑surprises protocol: Report delivery, budget, and risk issues to D&T leadership early and quantified, with mitigation options and a recommendation.
Portfolio reporting: Produce executive‑ready reporting on a consistent set of delivery, adoption, and value‑realization KPIs that stands up to challenge without rework.
Leadership representation
Represent Market Access D&T in senior leadership forums, investment steering committees, and regulatory readiness reviews, bridging global commercial technology capabilities and US Market Access needs so global standards are adopted locally and US requirements are reflected in global roadmaps.
