Position Summary
The Director o f Manufa cturing Support Services is a key operations leadership role responsible for b uilding the systems, standards, and support fu nctions required to drive consistent manufacturing performance at Rise Modular. This p ositi on leads Safety & Training, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement , and SOP integration bringing these functions together under a common operating framework focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost, and continuous improvement.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Design Integration, and Factory Support, the Director translates operational data into action, identifies root causes of performance gaps, establishes scalable processes, and ensures Rise standards are consistently integrated throughout the manufacturing and supply chain lifecycle.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can move comfortably between the factory floor, operational data, process development, and strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Workforce Training
Provide leadership for factory safety and workforce training programs.
Establish processes for injury and incident tracking, trend analysis, corrective action, and prevention.
Lead development and maintenance of manufacturing SOPs, work instructions, and standardized training.
Ensure training programs support employee proficiency , safety, quality, and operational performance.
Partner with manufacturing leaders to identify skill gaps and develop appropriate training interventions.
Oversee environmental controls and other operational safety/compliance processes within the function.
Lead Supply Chain strategy and execution supporting factory production requirements.
Oversee procurement, inventory control, material availability, vendor performance, and material budget tracking.
Develop supplier performance standards and processes for addressing quality, delivery, cost, and compliance issues.
Partner with Manufacturing to improve material flow and minimize production disruptions caused by material shortages or availability.
Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, purchasing practices, vendor relationships, and material cost management.
Ensure Rise standards and quality expectations are incorporated into supplier and purchasing processes.
Quality Assurance
Provide leadership and strategic direction for Rise Modular's Quality Assurance program.
Establish and maintain quality standards, inspection processes, documentation, and corrective-action systems.
Oversee non-conformance identification, tracking, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and prevention.
Ensure compliance with applicable state requirements and maintain required factory certifications.
Partner with Manufacturing and Design Integration to address recurring quality issues and improve build quality upstream.
Integrate Rise quality standards throughout manufacturing and supply-chain processes.
Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead structured problem-solving and continuous improvement across operational functions.
Facilitate root-cause analysis of recurring production, quality, material, safety, and process issues.
Coordinate across Manufacturing, Design Integration, Factory Support, and other functions to eliminate barriers to factory performance.
Develop systems for tracking improvement initiatives, ownership, deadlines, and results.
Promote a culture of standard work, accountability, problem solving, and data-driven decision-making.
Ensure lessons learned and process improvements are incorporated into future production.
Operational Excellence & Performance Management
Lead the operational excellence strategy across manufacturing support functions, including QA, Supply Chain, Safety & Training, and SOP Development .
Partner with department leaders to identify performance gaps, determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and measure results.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety, material flow, cost, and schedule performance.
Develop scalable processes and standards that support Rise Modular's growth and manufacturing objectives .
Drive accountability for corrective actions and sustained improvement rather than one-time problem resolution.
Establish and maintain processes for identifying and managing operational risk across safety, quality, supply chain, and vendor performance .
Ensure required documentation, inspections, certifications, training records, and corrective actions are appropriately maintained .
Partner with leadership to proactively identify emerging operational and compliance risks.
Ensure Rise standards are consistently applied throughout manufacturing and supply phases.
The Director of Manufacturing Support Services is expected to be highly visible within the factory and develop strong working relationships with production leaders and employees. The successful leader will balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and will be comfortable challenging existing processes when data and operational results indicate a better approach.
This role is expected to create alignment among previously distinct support functions and ensure QA, Supply Chain, and Safety & Training, operate as integrated enablers of manufacturing performance rather than independent support departments .
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Operations , Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; equivalent relevant experience considered.
Significant leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, operational excellence, or a related environment.
Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, standard work, and performance-management methodologies.
Experience developing and using manufacturing KPIs, time studies, cycle-time analysis, and operational reporting.
Working knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing safety, supply-chain management, and workforce training.
Experience managing suppliers, inventory, procurement, and material-performance issues.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into operational action.
Demonstrated ability to develop processes and systems in a growing or rapidly changing organization.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across functions and organizational levels.
Measures of Success
Success in this role will be demonstrated through improved manufacturing productivity and cycle time; reduced quality defects and non-conformances; improved safety performance; increased workforce proficiency and training effectiveness; improved material availability and inventory accuracy; stronger supplier performance; reliable operational data and KPI visibility; and measurable, sustained improvement from corrective and continuous-improvement initiatives.
The salary range for this role is $ 150 ,000 – $ 165 ,000 ( Annually) . Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Rise Modular’s Total Rewards package for employees.
