Job description

The Director, Medical Manufacturing Business Performance Partner will aid with large scale projects and program management. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Medical Manufacturing, this role is accountable for executing strategic business initiatives within manufacturing. The individual will be tasked with applying best-in-class program management and resource prioritization principles. This individual will be responsible for working across the Global function to help influence and drive business strategy and support optimal decision making. Viewed as a key business performance partner, the individual will be expected to proactively build relationships across various functions, levels, and regions to ensure effective stakeholder management. The ideal candidate should bring experience leading global, multi-site, large-scale programs within Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all operating mechanisms for the business, potentially including staff meetings, business reviews, financial reviews, and other key forums.
  • Work with Senior Vice President to define operating model and mechanisms and forums to drive progress.
  • Work with administrative support to maintain calendar of key operating mechanisms and communicate schedule and expectations to leadership team and key stakeholders.
  • Set agendas for key operating mechanisms and document and track action items.
  • Support interaction between forums at functional, business, segment and enterprise level.
  • Partner with Strategy Lead & Finance Lead to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and design supporting measurement systems & reporting tools to validate assumptions to drive business performance.
  • Support resource prioritization aligned with the strategy to support the delivery of key business initiatives driving financial performance.
  • Provide project leadership across strategic initiatives, including manufacturing strategy, value improvement projects (VIP), optimization and network performance.
  • Accountable for managing dependencies across transformation efforts in alignment with established strategic objectives with a focus on driving change management.
  • Assure prioritization, collaboration, and effective execution of projects to ensure all objectives and milestones are achieved.
  • Develop and implement business processes and playbooks to support effective and consistent execution against business initiatives.
  • Build and maintain multi-generational program-level plans, support stakeholder management, and provide appropriate escalations to drive timely and successful execution.
  • Proactively identify program-level issues and risks, support issue resolution, and develop risk mitigation plans in close partnership with project teams and relevant business partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and Advanced Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to plan tasks, assign and manage resources, remove barriers, manage change, resolve conflict, build consensus, and motivate team members.
  • Experience in plant manufacturing and materials management, with experience in high volume, low cost modeled production.
  • Developing business-specific strategies and implementing them.
  • Experience in Operational Excellence (Lean Six Sigma).
  • Strong financial acumen, preferred some knowledge of zero-based budgeting.
  • Ability to influence without authority and excellent communication skills; ability to tailor communication with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication skills to navigate efficiently and effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, organizational, and financial planning skills.
  • Ability to travel 30%.
  • This is a remote based position; ideal candidate will live in the eastern time zone in the United States.

Anticipated base salary range: $132,000 - $200,000

*The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
