Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior professional to lead managed care contracting for hospital systems and affiliated departments in a complex payer landscape. You will shape strategy, analyze rate proposals, and negotiate agreements across providers and facilities.

Key duties include contract modeling, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with Finance and Revenue Cycle to ensure accurate financial reporting. Minimum 10 years in managed care contracting and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business/healthcare/finance or related field.
• Progressive experience in managed care contracting (10+ years).
• Leadership experience in multi-hospital or health system settings (5+ years).
• Strong knowledge of CMS/DOI/state reimbursement regs and traditional payer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and develop managed care contracts for hospital, outpatient, and specialty groups.
• Lead payer strategy, contract and rate proposal analysis, counter-proposal development, and payer negotiations.
• Review payer agreements and recommend alternative contractual language.
• Develop and negotiate provider agreements, payment terms, and facility payment models.
• Direct contract modeling and what-if analysis using STRATA or equivalent tools.
• Research and apply value-based care and alternative risk-based payment methodologies.
