Job summary

Equality Now is seeking a Director of Major Gifts to lead the Individual & Major Giving portfolio, including high-touch donor strategies, gala sponsorships, and donor engagement initiatives worldwide. The role partners with the CEO and CDO to translate development strategy into actionable plans, nurture relationships, and drive sustainable revenue.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in major gift fundraising and high-touch donor engagement.
• Experience securing 5–7 figure gifts from individuals and family foundations.
• Experience in event fundraising and strengthening development operations.
• Familiarity with global human rights funding landscapes and related contexts.
• Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead operationalization of major giving strategy and donor pathways.
• Drive high-touch donor growth, network-mapping, and engagement initiatives.
• Support CEO/CDO with top-tier donor cultivation and bespoke opportunities.
• Oversee and elevate mid-level and annual giving programs.
• Cultivate Advisory Board engagement and donor networks.
• Represent Equality Now with fluency in women’s rights contexts.
• Ensure donor experiences align with mission-driven engagement and impact narratives.
• Provide reporting, analytics, and revenue projections to leadership.
