Job summary

National Audubon Society is seeking a Director of Donor Engagement and Stewardship to partner with senior leadership to design and implement a comprehensive stewardship and donor engagement strategy for major donors. The role launches Audubon’s first major giving society and aims to attract, retain, and deepen support from major donors.

The position requires leading events, webinars, and communications while developing policies, metrics, and a fundraising plan.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required with 7+ years in stewardship/donor relations or related field.
Exceptional project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and proofreading abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills with diplomacy and ability to engage diverse donor groups.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and coordinate a major donor engagement and stewardship strategy for Audubon’s donors.
Lead creation and oversight of the new major giving society, including benefits, events, and communications.
Develop fundraising plans and monitor success metrics; maintain compliance with policies.
Oversee donor communications and stewardship reports, ensuring timely, impactful delivery.
