About This Role

The Director of Magnet Designation serves as the principal administrative officer for the Magnet and Pathway to Excellence Program at Hackensack Meridian Health. This role is ideal for experienced nursing leaders who are passionate about improving patient outcomes and fostering a culture of nursing excellence.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate activities for designation across the network developing a vision, strategy, and plans for network‑wide designation, re‑designation, and sustainability.
• Oversee the coordination, education, and training of all Magnet Program Directors.
• Maintain oversight and facilitate the preparation and submission of documentation, policies, research, and informational sessions for maintaining ANCC Magnet status.
• Identify, develop, and maintain comprehensive data management systems for information submission to the Magnet Program Office.
• Act as the liaison with the American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and other agencies as needed.
• Report and update the Regulatory and Accreditation Committee on compliance with organizational standards.
• Coordinate readiness assessments and lead the creation of gap analysis plans for Magnet or Pathway to Excellence designation.
• Act as a subject matter expert and resource to nursing leadership related to the Magnet Model and standards interpretation.
• Lead activities required to maintain ANCC Magnet status by improving patient outcomes using evidence‑based practice.
• Facilitate shared governance and shared decision‑making structures across multiple sites.

Requirements

Education:

• Master's degree in Nursing required
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years nursing experience required
• Experience as Magnet Program Director required
• More than 1 year experience in clinical education preferred

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current, unrestricted New Jersey State licensure as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey required
• Specialty certification in nursing required
