QXO is seeking a Director of Commodities Procurement to lead lumber and wood products sourcing strategy, manage supplier relationships, and support operating companies with market insight and purchasing guidance.

The role requires strong commodity market expertise, disciplined negotiation, and the ability to deliver quality products at competitive costs. 8–10+ years in procurement and a BS in business are expected.

• 8-10+ years in procurement or related field
• Lumber and building materials expertise
• Strong communication skills
• Quantitative market analysis skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration
• Proficiency with Excel and LBM ERP systems

Responsibilities

• Monitor lumber futures, cash markets, and economic trends to anticipate supply, demand, and pricing shifts.
• Source dimension lumber, engineered wood, OSB, plywood, and specialty products to meet cost, margin, and service objectives.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery, payment terms, and volume programs with mills, brokers, and secondary suppliers.
• Partner with operating companies to balance inventory, improve turns, reduce carrying costs, and prevent stockouts.
• Advise operating company procurement teams on market changes, sourcing opportunities, availability, and anticipated price movement.
• Monitor supplier performance, order fulfillment, and product quality or warranty issues.
• Identify reload center opportunities to support volume purchasing and efficient redistribution to local operating companies.
