Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. seeks a Director, Corporate Counsel- Litigation to lead strategic litigation support and partner with senior leadership. You will oversee disputes, work with external counsel, and guide risk‑aware decisions across the organization from Berwyn, PA.

The role requires a JD, an active U.S. bar license, and at least 10 years of in‑house or law‑firm experience in litigation management and settlement negotiations. Travel up to 10% may apply.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.
• Active bar license to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house.
• Experience managing litigation, claims, and working with outside counsel.
• Strong knowledge of litigation management and risk assessment.
• Ability to advise on legal risks and align with business objectives.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating settlement documents and other legal agreements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support litigation, claims, disputes, investigations, and other proceedings.
• Partner with stakeholders and outside counsel to develop litigation strategy and control costs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate settlement documents and confidentiality agreements.
• Advise senior leadership on legal risks, obligations, and dispute options.
• Monitor laws and regulations impacting litigation and operations.
• Maintain relationships with internal clients, outside counsel, and third parties.
• Prepare legal analyses and reports to support risk mitigation and decision making.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethics, and legal requirements.
