Job summary

The Land Use Services Director at Door County provides strategic leadership for planning, zoning, conservation, and mapping services. The role directs department priorities, supervises staff, and oversees the annual operating budget to ensure fiscal accountability and alignment with County goals.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Urban/Regional Planning or related field, 5+ years in planning, 3+ years in a supervisory role, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in urban or regional planning or related field.
• Minimum five years of progressive planning-related experience.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in a governmental setting.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Directs all functions of the Land Use Services Department and sets priorities.
• Supervises staff and conducts performance evaluations.
• Oversees budgeting and implementation of planning programs and regulations.
• Represents the County in meetings and public forums; communicates complex information.
