Duke University Health System is seeking a Director of Labor Relations to lead DUHS labor relations operations, guide complex contract interpretation, and advise senior leadership on union interactions and disciplinary actions.

The role reports to HR leadership, requires strong knowledge of NLRA and employment policies, and involves travel. This hybrid position expects about three days on-site across the Duke Health system.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in labor relations, human resources or a related discipline.
• Candidate should have extensive knowledge of labor relations and labor law principles.
• Experience leading HR and labor relations initiatives in large organizations.
• Familiarity with union interactions, grievance processes, and arbitration support.

Aufgaben

• Oversee labor relations operations including contract interpretation and administration.
• Advise leaders on disciplinary actions, grievances, and terminations per collective bargaining agreements.
• Lead investigations, witness preparation, and arbitration support in partnership with legal counsel.
• Manage the labor relations team with coaching, performance reviews, and case quality oversight.
• Develop and implement labor relations strategy and policy aligned with organizational goals.
• Provide training on positive employee relations, NLRA rights, and compliant practices.
