HomeServe USA Corp. is seeking a seasoned Labor Relations professional to oversee the energy services labor relations function.

You will lead collective bargaining negotiations, administer contracts, handle grievances/arbitrations, and guide management through changing laws and policies. The role requires strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, with at least 10 years of labor relations experience and a Bachelor’s/Master’s in the field.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in labor relations preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Labor Relations.
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day labor relations operations of the Energy Services division, including contract administration and grievances/arbitrations.
  • Serve as Chief Negotiator in labor contract negotiations and prepare negotiation strategies.
  • Develop proposals for collective bargaining and ensure contracts are properly administered.
  • Provide guidance on grievance resolution and interpretation of agreements.
  • Monitor laws and regulations impacting labor relations and advise management accordingly.
  • Draft, formalize, and communicate collective bargaining agreements and changes.

Position Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the labor relations function within the Energy Services organization, which includes maintaining satisfactory labor-management relations through a variety of techniques such developing effective working relationships with represented employees as well as HSES management teams. This role will be the lead for collective bargaining negotiations for all HSES sites. This includes managing the full negotiations process, from preparing negotiation strategies with the HSES leadership and local management teams, being the chief spokesperson at the negotiating table and finalizing the negotiations with the development and full execution of a Memorandum of Agreement and ultimately developing a collective bargaining agreement with the newly negotiated terms. This role will also be responsible for administering and interpreting the HSES labor contracts for things such as grievances/arbitrations, and union and management practices. This includes formulating and recommending program goals and objectives in all areas of the labor relations function.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day labor relations operations of the Energy Services division, including labor contract administration, disciplinary actions, grievances/arbitrations, policy development, reporting, and other related areas.
  • Establish and implement short-range and long-range strategic labor relations goals; evaluate outcomes and recommend adjustments that align with key division strategies.
  • Serve as Chief Negotiator in the negotiation of labor contracts.
  • Collect survey data and develop proposals and strategies for collective bargaining sessions.
  • Ensure the proper and effective administration of collective bargaining contracts on a depot and Energy Services-wide basis; provide guidance to administrators and management teams in the interpretation of labor agreements and develop and conduct in-service training as needed.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to administrators and management teams on grievance and conflict resolution.
  • Prepare or propose position/response to grievance issues; interface with external and internal attorneys.
  • Effectively present and argue management’s position in negotiations and arbitrations.
  • Keep abreast of and analyze federal/state legislative and administrative decisions, laws, regulations, and policies to determine their impact on the labor relations functions; and make recommendations on how to implement new requirements.
  • Write formalized agreements reached with bargaining units.
  • Consult with exclusive bargaining representatives on contractual matters.

Skills & Abilities
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in labor relations preferred, or equivalent combination of education, and experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in Labor Relations
  • Computer Skills:
  • Competency in MS Windows, MS Word, and MS Outlook
  • Proficient Excel knowledge to include (but is not limited to) Vlookup, Pivot Tables, and creating visual representations
  • Other Requirements:
  • 50% Travel
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well organized, detail oriented with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks

Starting Salary Range

$143,266.60 - $191,022.13
