Dewberry is seeking a Director of IT Operations to join Corporate IT Services at the Fairfax, VA headquarters. Reporting to the Deputy CIO, this role oversees five IT managers and manages enterprise infrastructure, networks, storage, and security to ensure reliability and compliance.

You will develop operational and capital budgets, mentor a high-performing team, and partner with Cybersecurity and Compliance to implement safeguards while aligning technology with business goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • ITIL experience and certification is preferred.
  • Very technical with deep knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage, disaster recovery, security technologies, and performance management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large IT teams and large-scale IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee enterprise infrastructure, including networks, systems, data storage, internet connectivity, security controls, etc. ensuring reliability, performance, availability, and compliance.
  • Establish, monitor, and improve operational metrics, service levels, standards, procedures, and documentation to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Direct selection, implementation, enhancement, and support of business technologies and services aligned with organizational goals.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Compliance, etc. to implement and maintain security architecture, controls, and operational safeguards.
  • Develop and manage operational and capital budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT operations team.

Dewberry is seeking a Director, IT Operations to join Corporate IT Services. Reporting to the Deputy CIO, this role oversees five IT managers and is based at our Fairfax, VA headquarters.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and alignment across IT Operations, other IT teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee enterprise infrastructure, including networks, systems, data storage, internet connectivity, security controls, etc. ensuring reliability, performance, availability, and compliance.

  • Direct selection, implementation, enhancement, and support of business technologies and services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and evolving business needs.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Compliance, etc. to implement and maintain security architecture, controls, and operational safeguards.
  • Develop and manage operational and capital budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation, cost control, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team capable of delivering exceptional IT services.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Must have a very technical background with deep knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage, disaster recovery, security technologies, and performance management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build relationships and influence decisions across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large IT teams with the ability to inspire collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale IT operations, service delivery, operational processes, and technology initiatives.
  • Experience developing and managing operational and capital budgets aligned to organizational goals.
  • AI experience is positive.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ITIL experience and certification is preferred.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $187,000-$241,000 annually in our Fairfax, VA office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
