This position provides leadership and practical oversight for system requirements, development, infrastructure, system administration, technology support, vendor management, testing, and reporting. The Director partners closely with business units to deliver high‑quality, responsive IT services that enable organizational effectiveness and mission impact.

The Director is responsible for the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures, as well as the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all IT functions within the organization. This includes ensuring that systems and services are effective, efficient, secure, and scalable, while remaining closely connected to operational needs and stepping in directly to support critical initiatives and issue resolution when necessary.

Competencies
  • Accountability: reliable, honest, and transparent; regularly makes commitments and takes ownership of responsibilities.
  • Agility: maintains efficiency in a changing work environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures.
  • Effective Communication: conveys information clearly, with respect and integrity, using a professional manner and the appropriate means and channels for audience and subject matter.
  • Engagement: contributes to the success of the organization by embracing teamwork, taking initiative on tasks and problem‑resolution, and seeking out learning opportunities.
  • Quality: Work is organized, accurate and neat. The employee displays a commitment to excellence, checks work and learns from mistakes, and seeks feedback to improve quality as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Strategic & Operational Leadership

Develop and execute an IT strategy aligned with Philabundance’s mission, operational priorities, and growth—while remaining actively involved in day‑to‑day IT operations. Identify and implement practical, cost‑effective technology solutions that improve efficiency, service delivery, and organizational impact.

  • Team Leadership & Hands‑On Support

Lead, mentor, and develop a small IT team while providing hands‑on technical support and guidance as needed. Foster a responsive, service‑oriented culture and step in directly to resolve issues, support projects, or fill gaps when resources are limited.

  • Infrastructure, Cybersecurity & Risk Management

Oversee and actively support IT infrastructure, networks, cloud systems, and cybersecurity operations. Participate directly in system administration, security monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery efforts, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and resilient.

  • Business Systems & ERP Management

Lead and contribute to the administration, configuration, and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics, MS SQL, and related systems. Partner with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and ensure systems effectively support daily operations.

  • Data, Reporting & Analytics

Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and data processes. Work hands‑on with data systems as needed to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and meaningful insights that support decision‑making across the organization.

  • Process Improvement & Technology Enablement

Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve processes through technology. Lead initiatives while also participating in implementation, system configuration, and user adoption efforts.

  • Operational Excellence & End‑User Support

Ensure reliable IT operations across all locations, including overseeing (and occasionally delivering) help desk support, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and maintaining system performance and uptime.

  • Budget, Procurement & Vendor Management

Manage the IT budget and procurement process, while working directly with vendors and service providers. Oversee contracts and performance, and collaborate with partners to resolve issues, implement solutions, and maximize value.

  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with staff and leadership to understand needs, provide practical technology solutions, and support organizational initiatives. Serve as both a strategic advisor and an accessible, solutions‑oriented resource.

  • Policy, Compliance & Training

Develop and implement IT policies and best practices, while also leading or participating in staff training on systems, cybersecurity awareness, and effective technology use.

  • Culture & Organizational Alignment

Model and reinforce Philabundance’s cultural pillars—People, Professionalism, Partnership, and Progress—through hands‑on collaboration, responsiveness, and a commitment to service.
