Madison-Davis, LLC, a leading Boston-based investment management firm, seeks an experienced Finance professional with a strong FP&A background and exposure to technology/IT finance to join as Director/Associate Director, Technology Finance. Reporting to the CFO, you will partner with Technology leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic investments, driving ROI and cost optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • 7+ years FP&A / financial management experience.
  • Experience supporting technology or IT organizations from an FP&A perspective.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and long-range planning abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning for Technology.
  • Partner with CFO and Technology leadership on financial strategy.
  • Manage and analyze the Technology P&L.
  • Develop budget vs. forecast reporting, variance analysis and scenario modeling.
  • Build financial models and ROI assessments for tech initiatives.
  • Create executive-level reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Monitor technology and cloud spending and identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Analyze AWS/Azure usage and expenses.
  • Partner with Procurement on vendor negotiations and cost reduction.
  • Evaluate cloud pricing strategies including Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
  • Improve financial processes, expense visibility and transparency.
  • Identify opportunities to make variable technology expenses more predictable.

Job description

A leading Boston-based investment management firm is seeking an experienced Finance professional with a strong FP&A background and exposure to technology/IT finance to join its team as a Director / Associate Director, Technology Finance.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this highly visible role will partner closely with Technology leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cost optimization, and strategic decision-making around technology investments.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, business-oriented FP&A professional who can analyze technology expenses, identify cost‑saving opportunities, evaluate ROI, and communicate actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

Deep technical IT expertise is not required. Candidates from SaaS, technology, financial services, consulting, or mid‑sized organizations are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own forecasting, annual budgeting, and long‑range financial planning for Technology
  • Partner directly with the CFO and Technology leadership on financial strategy and decision‑making

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive FP&A / financial management experience
  • Experience supporting technology or IT organizations from an FP&A perspective
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and long‑range planning
  • Demonstrated ability to develop financial models and conduct ROI analyses
  • Experience with vendor spend analysis and expense management
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate financial insights effectively to senior leadership
Technology & Cloud Finance Experience

Experience with the following is highly valued:

  • Managing and forecasting AWS and/or Azure spend
  • Cloud pricing models and cost optimization
  • AWS Cost Explorer and/or Athena
  • Identifying cloud cost savings opportunities
  • Reserved Instances and Savings Plans
  • Vendor negotiations and contract optimization
  • FinOps initiatives or certification
  • Technology investment analysis and ROI modeling

Deep FinOps or technical IT expertise is not required. Strong FP&A fundamentals combined with meaningful technology exposure are most important.

  • Broad, hands‑on FP&A roles with significant business partnering responsibilities

Candidates from other industries will also be considered if they have strong FP&A fundamentals and meaningful technology/IT exposure.
