Job summary

Focus Partners seeks a Director of Investment Strategy (Integration) to lead on-boarding and integration of joining firms onto our unified investment platform. You will work with legacy leadership and analysts to transition client portfolios to Focus-approved options, educating advisors and ensuring high client retention while building scale.

The role is hybrid with locations in Chicago, St. Louis, or Boston, requiring deep investment knowledge, M&A integration experience, and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, engineering, finance, math, or related field.
• 15+ years of work experience in an investment-related, communications, or technical position.
• Experience with trading and rebalancing on the investment side for the integration role.
• Broad knowledge of public and private investment strategies.
• Experience working with portfolio models and portfolio rebalancing systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through multi-phase projects.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player and collaborate across disciplines.
• Experience with M&A investment integration.
• Skilled at building trust with business leaders and advisors.
• Excel in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and oversee the execution of integration plans that bring firms onto the unified investment platform.
• Develop understanding of legacy portfolios and proprietary strategies.
• Work with legacy firms to select options from the approved platform for client portfolios.
• Collaborate with portfolio operations to ensure proper integration into centralized management.
• Oversee migration from legacy positions to recommended strategies, mindful of tax consequences.
• Serve as liaison to legacy firm and investment leadership teams, building buy-in.
• Educate legacy firm advisors on the investment platform to boost client conversations.
• Coordinate sequencing and scheduling for firm integrations and report progress to stakeholders.
