Position Summary

The Director, Integrated Business Optimization is a new role within the Corporate Development Team, created to help lead Methanex’s Integrated Sales & Supply Chain Optimization (IS&SO) initiative and to drive the sophistication of the company’s integrated decision making in order to maximize free cash flow (FCF) generation. Reporting to the VP, Global Gas, the incumbent acts as the Corporate Development lead on the IS&SO team, partnering closely with Marketing & Logistics (M&L) Commercial and Supply Chain leadership, Corporate Finance, Manufacturing and Regional Gas teams to build and embed a central, integrated optimization capability that evaluates the complex trade-offs across sales allocation, sourcing, production flexibility, logistics cost exposure and gas implications, tested against a counterfactual model.

The incumbent is primarily responsible for:

  • Driving the design and implementation of the IS&SO operating model, governance and interfaces with existing planning processes, including the Navigate supply chain planning project and the Corporate Finance free-cash-flow model.
  • Leading the development of a corporate FCF optimization engine tied to the corporate data sources.
  • Acting as a “Trusted Advisor” and “Thought Partner” to M&L Commercial, M&L Supply Chain, Corporate Finance, Manufacturing and Regional Gas leaders in order to standardize processes for analyzing complex, cross-functional trade-offs.
  • Supporting the Tactical Planning Optimization cycle (rolling 90-day to 12-month horizon) and the Strategic/Annual Planning Optimization cycle (1-3 year horizon), including scenario development, KPI review and recommendation development for senior stakeholders.
  • Building organizational capability to anticipate, model and act on enterprise value drivers, tying commercial, operational and financial decisions to free cash flow outcomes.

As a key contributor to the IS&SO team and a key senior leader of Methanex’s Corporate Development team, the incumbent works under the guidance of the VP, Global Gas alongside the M&L Business Performance Director and other functional leaders to advance the team through its Discovery, Model Development and Steady State phases, ultimately embedding durable optimization capability within the organization.
