Job summary

Candide Group is seeking a Director, Inclusive Entrepreneurship to lead investment activities focused on expanding economic opportunity and supporting entrepreneurs and communities that have historically faced barriers to traditional financing. The role offers a remote work arrangement with occasional onsite meetings in Oakland, California, and a salary range of $165,000 to $190,000 per year.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities and developing investment pipelines.
• Experience in impact investing, venture capital, private equity, private debt, blended capital structures, loan funds or related investment environments.
• Understanding financing needs and gaps affecting underrepresented entrepreneurs and small businesses; experience assessing community needs and integrating grassroots perspectives into investment diligence.
• Strong financial analysis, due diligence and underwriting skills.
• Ability to prepare high-quality investment memorandums and client presentations.
• Experience with fund or investment vehicle development, including structuring, fundraising and capital deployment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills; ability to work independently while maintaining quality and analytical rigor.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate investment opportunities aligned with Candide Group’s financial and impact objectives.
• Research markets, develop an investment pipeline, and collaborate across initiatives.
• Conduct financial and impact due diligence across asset classes (venture investments, loan funds, CDFIs, private equity and private debt).
• Prepare detailed investment memorandums and present findings to investment and client audiences.
• Contribute to development or launch of an Inclusive Entrepreneurship fund or investment vehicle, including fundraising and investor engagement.
• Monitor and manage approximately 15–20 active legacy funds within the Inclusive Entrepreneurship vertical, reporting on performance.
