RapidSOS is seeking a Director of Implementation Engineering to lead our enterprise B2B implementation team. This hands-on leadership role writes code and guides complex integrations at scale for 250+ enterprise partners, focusing on Voice AI and emergency service integrations.

You'll mentor a growing team, partner with Product, Engineering and Customer Success to improve onboarding velocity and satisfaction, and establish robust standards and on-call coverage for reliable delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years total engineering/implementation experience with 3+ years leading technical teams.
• Experience with large enterprise customers and a customer-centric mindset.
• AI-forward experience with integration work; comfortable coding and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency configuring REST APIs and using Python for integrations.

What this role is about:

RapidSOS is looking for a Director of Implementation Engineering to lead our enterprise B2B implementation team, driving the delivery of mission‑critical integrations across our enterprise customer base. This is a hands‑on leadership role — you'll stay close to the technical work itself, writing code and solving complex integrations alongside your team, while guiding their shift toward a flexible, code‑first, AI‑forward way of working and building the operational rigor that lets the team scale to meet growing enterprise demand. Every enterprise deployment your team ships is another link in the safety network — the faster and more reliably you get customers live, the faster your work helps people in emergencies where every second counts.

What you'll do:

• Lead RapidSOS's enterprise Implementation Engineering team, driving the transformation from legacy, tool‑based delivery to a flexible, code‑and‑repo‑based, AI‑forward way of working
• Own delivery of solutions for a customer base of 250+ enterprise partners and customers, ensuring Voice AI, call routing, and emergency service integrations reliably handle mission‑critical communications at scale
• Stay hands‑on with the technical work itself — writing code, architecting integration solutions, and troubleshooting alongside the team
• Engage directly with customers when needed, bringing technical credibility to enterprise conversations and strengthening relationships with key accounts
• Drive measurable improvements in customer onboarding velocity and satisfaction by collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to translate implementation insights into platform innovations
• Build and scale a high‑impact team through strategic hiring, mentorship, and skills development — establishing the technical standards and operational frameworks that enable consistent delivery as complexity grows
• Own the team's operational budget and vendor/tooling relationships, including scoping and managing implementation contractors and consultants, and build a reliable coverage model including a formal on‑call rotation

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

• 8+ years of total experience in engineering, sales engineering, solutions engineering, or implementation engineering, including 3+ years managing technical teams, with experience in post‑sales implementation
• Experience working with large enterprise customers, with a customer‑centric mindset that cares about delivering solutions that enable and delight
• AI-forward experience doing integration work — comfortable coding, troubleshooting, and scaling technical solutions, and proactive about leveraging emerging tools to accelerate delivery
• Proficiency and experience with configuring REST APIs and using Python for integrations and implementations
• Genuinely hands‑on — someone who wants to stay close to the technical work and lead by example, not just manage from a distance
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to represent RapidSOS credibly in front of enterprise stakeholders
• Demonstrated expertise in problem‑solving, from troubleshooting complex integrations to guiding a team through ambiguity
• Highly self‑motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and the adaptability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment where priorities shift quickly

Starting pay for a successful applicant will depend on a variety of job‑related factors, which may include experience, relevant skills, training, education, location, business needs, or market demands. The salary range for this role is $190,000 - $220,000. This role will also be eligible to receive equity options.
