Job summary

Forefront is a leader in integrated facility services for healthcare environments. The IFM Director oversees strategic oversight and operational management across facilities maintenance, EVS, grounds, life safety, vendor management, and support operations.

This senior role leads a site-level team, manages budgets, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners with clinical teams to deliver service excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressive facilities leadership experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in building systems, regulatory compliance, life safety, and accreditation standards.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, delivering clear expectations, timely feedback, and consistent follow‑through at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead site-level facilities operations and outcomes.
• Monitor performance with work order systems and operational technology platforms.
• Establish strategic direction for maintenance, utilities, fire/life safety, and facility improvement programs.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate Facility Managers and facilities hourly staff.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory, safety, and accreditation requirements.
• Own operating and capital budgets; approve expenditures and manage financial performance.
• Develop and execute long‑term capital plans and facility improvement strategies.
• Partner with the client, clinical teams, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure service excellence and alignment.
• Partner with Forefront Regional Leadership to drive performance, financial results, and strategic initiatives.
• Establish and monitor KPIs, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead emergency preparedness, life safety, and business continuity planning.
• Make final decisions on priorities, staffing models, and vendor engagement.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections, and quality assurance checks to maintain standards.
• Oversee laundry operations, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient processing of linens and uniforms.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate EVS management staff to ensure high performance and engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Integrated Facility Management (IFM) Director serves as the senior site‑level leader responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of all integrated facility services within the client environment. This role represents Forefront as the primary operational partner and is accountable for delivering seamless, high‑quality services across facilities maintenance, environmental services, grounds, life safety, vendor management, and other support operations included within the IFM scope.

The IFM Director maintains full responsibility for safety, regulatory compliance, financial performance, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and service excellence across the facility portfolio. This position establishes the vision, priorities, and long‑term strategy for integrated facility operations while ensuring alignment with both Forefront standards and client objectives.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• This is a salaried exempt leadership position. Extended hours, on‑call availability, and emergency response may be required.
• Salary: $90,000-$95,000/yr

Essential Functions and Duties

General Responsibility as Required for Position

• Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certification/licenses, if applicable.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.

License and Certification

• CHESP (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional), CHEST, or equivalent healthcare EVS certification preferred
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• OSHA 10 (General Industry) required within six (6) months of hire
• CFM, CHFM, or equivalent preferred
