Job summary

Okta is seeking a Director Product Manager for Identity Threat Detection and Response to drive the evolution of its identity security offerings. This role combines technical depth with strategic product leadership and cross‑functional influence to shape security-focused solutions.

You will own the roadmap, collaborate with engineering, design, data, and GTM teams, and lead customer engagements to translate security requirements into scalable products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• Proven strategic vision and product design for security‑focused products.
• Experience with defining and driving Threat Protection, Threat Intelligence, SaaS Security and Network Security as a product suite.
• Experience across the product management lifecycle for enterprise security products or services.
• Thirst for learning across business and technical security contexts.
• Track record of owning and delivering large strategic projects with attention to detail.
• Strong technical background to influence security architectures.
• Excellent communication across technical and business audiences, especially on complex security concepts.
• 8+ years product management experience.
• Experience interviewing and selecting candidates.
• Mentoring early‑in‑career product managers.

Responsibilities

• Define the product strategy and roadmap for Okta Identity Security functionality.
• Evangelize vision to engineering teams, the broader product org, and customers.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive data‑driven roadmap prioritizing security features.
• Analyze data to inform product and roadmap decisions for better security outcomes.
• Ensure timely and within‑budget delivery of the security roadmap.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and design for platform‑first experiences.
• Work with Scrum teams and TPMs to deliver features on time for key security use cases.
• Prioritize across multiple product investment areas within the security domain.
• Partner with the data team to track product usage metrics tied to security outcomes.
• Capture detailed security requirements and document user stories and use cases.
• Engage with customers to understand identity‑centric threats and access controls.
• Incorporate beta feedback and maintain customer relationships during beta programs.
• Collaborate on competitive positioning and GTM messaging for identity security offerings.
• Inform pricing and packaging changes based on domain expertise.
• Lead quarterly business reviews and expand the customer pipeline from roadmap to packaging.
