Job summary

Pacific Life in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced IAM Director to lead a global team focusing on workforce and customer authentication, and directory services.

You will define the strategic vision, drive operational metrics, implement automation and self-service, and ensure reliable IAM platforms across domains. The role requires 10+ years in information security with strong IAM expertise and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years information security experience with strong IAM focus.
• 8+ years IAM engineering/operational experience.
• Experience engineering and supporting IAM platforms such as MS Entra ID, MS Active Directory, Okta, Auth0, Netwrix.
• Extensive knowledge in authentication services including conditional access policies, SAML, OIDC, MFA (Passkey, FIDO2, Windows Hello for Business).
• Experience in supporting multi-domain forest environments and consolidations.
• Proven ability to drive efficiencies and influence leadership.
• Proven ability to develop, track, and report department metrics.
• Ability to grow and retain talent and manage complex activities.
• Strong understanding of CoBIT and ITIL frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Director for the IAM department.
• Manage a team responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing new IAM capabilities to drive enterprise strategy.
• Execute the multi-year IAM plan across workforce, customer authentication and directory services.
• Design, develop and document IAM solutions with design docs, use cases, requirements and test cases.
• Ensure IAM platforms remain operational during business hours.
• Create automation, self-service, and resiliency within IAM workflows.
• Eliminate duplicative capabilities, reduce complexity, and leverage standards.
• Identify and remediate risks, issues and roadblocks for timely delivery.
• Develop communications framework and operational metrics for stakeholders.
• Provide decision making and technical guidance to team and leadership as needed.
• Establish relationships with technology partners and business lines.
• Lead change and drive awareness, documentation and training across the org.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
