Director, Human Resources Business Partner

In the dynamic world of NFL Media, the role of the Director, Human Resources Business Partner is pivotal in shaping our organizational culture and driving strategic initiatives. This position is about becoming a trusted advisor and partner to our leaders and employees. The ideal candidate will have a passion for modern HR practices, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to delivering practical, results-oriented solutions. Leading a people strategy that addresses business needs, this role will be crucial in attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing employees focused on achieving outstanding results.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a people strategy that proactively addresses business needs by partnering with leaders to create and execute an effective organizational design that attracts, develops, and retains high-performing employees. Provide high-level HR support rooted in progressive service excellence and client-focused internal consulting.
  2. Help develop and drive inclusion goals and progress for all client groups.
  3. Interpret and advise on HR policy; maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to employee management; ensure compliance with all applicable employment policies, regulations, and laws.
  4. Work with the shared services team to provide first-class strategic business partnering and responsive, quality service to all employees; share knowledge and best practices to improve HR effectiveness across the organization.
  5. Provide expert advice and counsel to leaders on organization and HR issues.
  6. Implement key company-wide HR initiatives and employee lifecycle activities (e.g., learning programs, compensation planning, performance management, talent planning).
  7. Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop recruitment strategies for organizational needs, including seasonal and agency hiring.
  8. Offer day-to-day coaching and performance management guidance; provide leadership coaching to key executives; work with managers and employees to build strong relationships, boosting morale, productivity, and retention.
  9. Utilize data and analytics to inform business decisions and assess organizational effectiveness; develop and implement plans to address identified issues.
  10. Champion and implement progressive HR practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related field.
  2. 8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in management.
  3. Deep understanding of core HR functions and legal requirements, especially CA employment law.
  4. Experience with inclusion initiatives and strategies.
  5. Strategic thinking and ability to translate concepts into actionable plans.
  6. Consultative and authentic relationship-building style.
  7. Ability to influence decision-making and communicate effectively.
  8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  10. Professionalism and diplomacy in all interactions.
  11. Experience handling employee relations matters.
  12. Proactive and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  13. Adaptability to a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in digital, entertainment, or sports industries; familiarity with studio and broadcast operations is a plus.
  2. Experience supporting large contingent workforces.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional light lifting and standing.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel required.

Work Schedule:

  • Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and holidays during peak times.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 USD

Work Location & Requirements:

In-person work at NFL offices or stadiums is required; remote/hybrid options are not available. NO RELOCATION ASSISTANCE.
