Summary of Job Purpose:
The Human Resources Business Initiatives Director directs and applies both outstanding people and project management skills to ensure that our human resources programs, projects and initiatives are effective, efficient and align with business objectives throughout the entire project lifecycle. This role requires solid understanding of the strategic HR needs related to Mergers and Acquisitions while driving the tactical HR project deliverables to timely implementation. The incumbent demonstrates a blend of both HRBP Business Partner and Project Management acumen and subject matter expertise to collaborate and lead strategic partnerships across the HR function, Centers or Excellence, Business lines and within assigned M&A function to ensure delivery of value-added programs and services across all levels of the organization.

The individual in this role will possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, knowledge of project management fundamental and HR practices, strategic thinking capability with the ability to lead/direct multiple complex, interdependent project deliverable concurrently; requiring strong organizational and excellent interpersonal and partnering skills to achieve optimum outcomes and results.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs transformational strategies by prioritizing HR M&A projects by establishing and monitoring multiple, complex and interrelated projects/task dependences; tracking projects and initiatives; reporting project status updates, completing audits and data validations; directs deliverables; developing/leveraging project tools and scorecards; monitoring project effectiveness; critical path deliverable creation/oversight; continuous improvement opportunities; establishing of process standards to be leveraged for continued efficiency, influencing matrixed project team resources and escalating concerns as needed.

  • Designs and executes forward-thinking and creative paths forward with a defined RACI for field HR, HR COES and all partnering teams through influence leaders at all levels.

  • Seasoned professional with Workday HCM technology and can partners with all teams for successful and concurrent integrations.

  • Partners with corporate HR centers of excellence project team, business project resources and/or any assigned project resources.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with field operations leaders, finance, HR and other stakeholders to understand key business challenges and leverage technology and process to address these challenges.

  • Analyzes and leverages HR and business data and trends as required by project. Ability to translate and product report or recommendation.

  • Creates position statement, pros-cons analysis and options when faced with discourse or misalignment.

  • Provides support and guidance to project team and serves as technical coordinator. Partners with all project resources including project leads and change managers cross-functionally as needed.

  • Creates, manages and/or leverages existing infrastructure of project management tools and methodologies to ensure continuous improvement, continued efficiency and process of planning and execution.

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • 10 years' demonstrated experience in project management methodologies, tools and techniques.

  • HR Business partner experience and/or demonstrated background, knowledge and accomplishments within a/multiple HR disciplines.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.

  • Ability to set priorities, meet challenging deadlines and achieve quick resolution of issues.

  • Self-directed with a high level of initiative, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation creation and delivery skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Collaborative and is a team player.

  • Extensive in design thinking and innovative solutions creation; knowledge of the interconnectivity between the various sub-functions within HR.

  • Ability to work with groups and teams to identify issues and solve problems.

  • Exhibits diplomacy, professionalism and maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building and partnership building skills.

  • Flexible and easily transitions between changing priorities.

  • Creative thinker and proactive problem solver.

  • Possesses the potential to be agile and confident to jump in and lead when/where needed. Acts as junior proxy, for example to next level HR leader to assist in leading the HR M&A work (due diligence, integration, execution planning).

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years Human Resources experience. 5 years as a HR Business partner preferred and/or experience in any/multiple HR disciplines, such as Compensation, Talent Development, Talent Management, Employee Relations requiring project management responsibilities.

  • 7 years working with Workday deployments preferred.

  • Mergers and Acquisitions knowledge and experience a plus.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • BS degree in Human resources or similar relevant field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Master's Degree in Business or HR preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL SKILLS Preferred:

  • Advanced/expert proficiency/expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with a strong comfort level working in HR systems or learning new systems. PMP or equivalent PM certification a plus.

  • SHRM-CP/PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR/GPHR

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position can be either remote within the Sysco US footprint or located at Houston HDQ/other Hub market location.

  • Travel may be required up to 20% to Sysco facilities or operating companies.
