From the beginning, Starbucks aimed to be a different kind of company—one that celebrates coffee, tradition, and fosters connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders guided by service to others.

We are seeking two roles: (1) Director, Human (Partner) Resources, Labor Relations – East, and (2) Director, Campaign. These leaders will manage teams supporting labor relations across retail and non-retail environments, focusing on union activity, partner experience, and strategic initiatives using analytics and data to generate insights and advocate for partners.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Leading with Starbucks Mission & Values, achieving excellence through prioritization, problem-solving, leadership development, and team building.
  2. Collaborating with senior leadership to identify needs, develop strategies, and measure outcomes.
  3. Possessing knowledge of collective bargaining, grievance processes, labor laws (ADA, FMLA, NLRA, Taft-Hartley, etc.), and contract negotiations.
  4. Utilizing data to enhance partner and customer experiences, and developing proactive labor relations strategies.
  5. Promoting inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility, and applying best practices in grievance investigations to reduce bias.
  6. Advocating for partners while fostering personal growth and self-awareness.
  7. Driving change and continuous improvement with a growth mindset.
  8. Managing and developing teams of managers and cross-functional partners to meet strategic goals.
Qualifications include:
  • Extensive experience (preferably 8+ years) in consulting, HR, labor relations, or employee relations, including change management, training, and performance management.
  • Proven leadership managing multi-functional teams.
  • Experience in high-growth environments ensuring legal compliance and fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • For the East role, residence within the East Zone is preferred; for the Campaign role, no geographic restrictions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% and reside near a reliable airport.
