Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a Director, HR Systems Optimization to lead strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of the HR technology portfolio in a hybrid Rochester, NY setting.

You will partner with HR, University IT, and executive leadership to align technology with institutional goals, drive process improvements, and deliver analytics-ready dashboards that influence workforce decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent).
• 8+ years leading HR systems, HR technology, or HRIS projects.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience leading Workday optimization initiatives and Workday HCM modules such as HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, or Learning.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects with HR, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Strong project management, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for HR technology platforms (Workday, UKG, Cornerstone, and others).
• Lead enterprise HR technology projects from prioritization through implementation.
• Partner with HR, IT, and business leaders to identify automation and process-improvement opportunities.
• Drive change management and adoption strategies for new technology and enhancements.
• Lead and develop a team of HR data and analytics professionals; advance reporting capabilities.
• Deliver executive dashboards, reporting, and insights for workforce planning and decisions.
• Establish governance to align HR tech investments with institutional goals.
