Reports to: VP, Talent & People Experience

Who You’ll Work With

Slalom is seeking a strategic and technically fluent Director of HR Technology Strategy & Architecture to lead the transformation of our People technology ecosystem. In this role, you will co-create and execute the HR technology strategy, oversee our core HR platforms (Workday and me@slalom), play a critical role in ServiceNow requirements and integrations, and lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering seamless, modern digital experiences across the employee lifecycle.

You’ll be accountable for modernizing our architecture, eliminating manual processes, scaling capabilities, and accelerating delivery—working cross-functionally to bring the future of HR tech to life. As a champion of innovation, you will also identify, build, and scale AI-enabled tools and solutions that transform how HR delivers value.

What You’ll Do

Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and lead the co-creation of a HR technology vision and multi-year roadmap aligned to business and people strategy.
  • Partner with HR and IT leaders to identify and prioritize high-impact initiatives that digitize and scale People processes.
  • Identify and incubate AI-driven opportunities (e.g., intelligent workflows, talent insights, conversational tools) that enhance the speed and intelligence of HR services.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies (AI, automation, predictive analytics) to recommend relevant innovation.

Platform Leadership

  • Serve as the ultimate product owner for Workday and me@slalom, with accountability for performance, user experience, and optimization.
  • Partner with IT on ServiceNow implementation and expansion, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Create a product strategy and lifecycle approach for HR platforms—balancing innovation, scalability, and security.
  • Pilot and implement AI-enhanced capabilities within existing platforms, and where needed, drive the development of new internal tools that boost productivity and strategic insight.

Team Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead, coach, and grow the HR Technology team, fostering a culture of excellence, agility, and delivery.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, release cycles, issue resolution, and system enhancements.
  • Drive fast-paced, iterative delivery using Agile and product management principles.

Architecture & Integration

  • Establish technical standards and integration strategies that ensure data integrity, scalability, and interoperability across systems.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, security, and data governance teams to align on frameworks and compliance.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Act as a trusted partner to HR COEs, business leaders, and IT counterparts—translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Champion user-centric design and change management strategies that enable adoption and impact.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years in HR Technology, Digital Transformation, or Enterprise Architecture, with progressive leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in Workday configuration, optimization, and strategic oversight.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, especially HR Service Delivery (HRSD) or HR Pro modules.
  • Familiarity with custom-built platforms, SaaS integrations, and modern architecture patterns.
  • Strong understanding of HR business processes—Talent, Performance, Learning, Total Rewards, and People Operations.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with other HR technology platforms and tools.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations.
  • Certification in HR technology or project management.
