Job summary

HR&A, housed in Los Angeles, seeks a Director for the Housing Affordability Practice to lead engagements with cities, developers, and housing authorities nationwide. You will guide policy design, financial feasibility, and stakeholder outreach, advancing affordable housing programs.

You will oversee teams, develop market analyses, and craft persuasive narratives for clients while contributing to firm growth and thought leadership in city planning and affordable housing finance.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of work experience in housing policy analysis and design, housing market analysis, affordable housing finance, and/or consulting in a related field.
• 5–7 years in Real Estate Development or Finance with 4+ years underwriting experience, preferably in affordable multifamily.
• Thorough knowledge of underwriting practices and housing market forces.
• Strong ability to synthesize data and present a compelling narrative.
• Experience presenting to senior leadership and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagements and training to build the housing affordability practice.
• Manage internal and external teams to complete market analysis and stakeholder engagements.
• Evaluate economic feasibility of housing policies including pro forma analyses.
• Present deliverables to clients via memos, reports, and presentations.
• Support marketing and client engagement efforts.
