Job summary

Community Health Systems seeks a Director of Environmental Services to lead hospital cleaning, infection prevention and linen management. You will drive operational efficiency, staff development and compliance with healthcare regulations to ensure a safe patient environment.

The role requires strategic planning, budget oversight, audits, and collaboration with leadership to optimize service delivery and quality across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience
• Seven (7) or more years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
• Master's degree preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in a closely related field required
• 3-5 years of previous leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure facility is clean, safe, and sanitary through housekeeping and infection prevention measures
• Direct environmental services department operations to meet healthcare standards
• Conduct audits and inspections for infection control and safety
• Design and deliver staff training on cleaning protocols and safety procedures
• Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts for cleaning supplies, equipment, and waste management
• Direct linen management program including inventory control and cost management
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies and standards
