Job summary

UHS is seeking a qualified Healthcare Facility Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate operations across Engineering, Maintenance and Grounds. The role ensures compliance with TJC, CMS, EPA and OSHA while overseeing staff, budgets and safety programs.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of hospital engineering management experience, knowledge of building trades, and expertise with CMMS/BMS systems, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree and a certified facility management credential.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma with technical trade or field certification in facility maintenance/engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Facility Manager certification or ability to obtain within one year.
• 5 years of hospital engineering management experience.
• Experience with HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry trades.
• Experience with CMMS and Building Management Systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls operations of Engineering, Maintenance and Grounds departments.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements including TJC, CMS, EPA, OSHA, and state/local agencies.
• Manages staff and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operation of hospital buildings.
• Develops and manages operating and capital budgets; oversees related departments (Clinical Engineering, Safety and Security).
