Job summary

Oakland Unified School District Nutrition Services seeks a Director of Good Food Manufacturing and Production to lead the Center's high‑volume food production facility. You will oversee staff, safety, quality, and financial targets, while expanding external contracts and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local nutrition standards.

The role requires a strong background in food manufacturing leadership, Lean/Six Sigma, HACCP, and California regulations, with 261‑day work year and exempt

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Culinary Arts or Industrial Technology (required).
• Minimum of 5+ years’ management experience in food manufacturing industry.
• Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience and/or certification preferred.
• Valid Servsafe Food Safety Certificate required.
• Valid California Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic long-term and short-term plans for the manufacturing facility.
• Grow production outside of OUSD and establish contracts with external organizations.
• Lead and supervise production, facilities, sanitation, and warehouse teams to meet production commitments.
• Ensure safe and timely delivery of meals by coordinating with Transportation and school staff.
• Maintain HACCP, safety, and food quality standards across operations.
