Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH seeks a Director for the Division of Hematology and Oncology. The role combines clinical leadership with academic growth, directing multidisciplinary cancer care and expanding research participation.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Cancer Center Director and Department Chair to advance clinical, educational and research missions and pursue Case Western Reserve University Joint endeavors.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with ABIM board certification in Oncology and/or Hematology and an unrestricted Ohio medical license.
• 5–7 years of leadership in an academic institution, with at least Associate Professor rank.
• Defined clinical niche with participation in scholarship and investigational activity.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills to advance academic clinical service.
• Effective supervisory skills including mentoring and coaching.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
• Commitment to organizational values, quality, safety, equity and inclusion.
• Personal integrity, maturity and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Be a practicing member and lead clinical care in Hematology/Oncology, promoting trial enrollment.
• Develop a faculty plan identifying subspecialty strengths for program growth.
• Lead faculty recruitment and retention efforts.
• Participate in the Department of Medicine leadership team to meet goals.
• Provide leadership of the academic enterprise.
• Support quality improvement and ensure patient safety/compliance.
