Job summary

Breakthrough T1D is seeking a Director of Health Policy to advance access to diabetes devices and care in the U.S. You will shape policy, analyze payer landscapes, and lead cross-functional teams to remove coverage barriers. Strong relationships with payers and policy makers are essential.

The role requires 10+ years in advocacy/health policy with a background in reimbursement and coding, plus ability to travel <30% and operate in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in advocacy, policy, or reimbursement fields.
  • Expert knowledge of public and private payer landscapes and coding.
  • Deep understanding of the US healthcare system; strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy execution to remove coverage barriers for diabetes tech in public and private markets.
  • Engage payers, PBMs, employers, coding bodies, and other external stakeholders.
  • Lead regulatory analysis of CMS rulemaking and payer policies affecting access.
  • Develop external communication resources for the T1D community and stakeholders.
  • Translate policy and economics data into talking points for leadership.
  • Collaborate across Advocacy, Research, Medical Affairs, and Communications.
