Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Director, HCP Marketing - Medical Education and KOL Strategy, Alzheimer’s Disease Psychosis (ADP), to develop the U.S. KOL engagement strategy and medical education programs for the ADP launch.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required; life sciences degree or equivalent desirable; MBA or graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical commercial experience, including demonstrated experience in professional promotion, KOL engagement, medical education, and/or congress strategy preferred
  • Proven track record of developing and executing KOL engagement plans, speaker bureau programs, peer-to-peer educational initiatives, and congress strategy in a specialty pharmaceutical or complex disease area context preferred
  • Experience leading or co-leading thought leader programs including advisory boards, speaker training, and HCP engagement forums; demonstrated ability to build meaningful, trusted external relationships with KOLs and influencers preferred
  • Success with launching a brand or major indications preferred
  • Demonstrated success in the evaluation of launch barriers and accelerators; and implementation of new initiatives, plan modifications and capturing new opportunities.
  • Functional experience within neuroscience, psychiatry, geriatrics, or Alzheimer's disease strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of the promotional review process, and the legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements governing HCP engagement, speaker programs, congress activities, and pre-approval market shaping activities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple programs and workstreams simultaneously with a high standard of executional quality
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels, embrace teamwork within a cross-functional environment, and lead and influence without direct authority
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, meet financial targets, and ensure accountability across program spend
  • Excellent communication skills — written and verbal — including the ability to present effectively to senior leadership, KOLs, and field-based teams
  • Demonstrated experience creating a strong, inclusive, energizing culture consistent with BMS values

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the annual U.S. KOL engagement plan for ADP, including identification and tiered prioritization of thought leaders across the multi-specialty HCP landscape (psychiatrists, neurologists, geriatricians, geriatric psychiatrists, PCPs, NPs/PAs, and LTC medical directors)
  • Build and manage trusted, long-term relationships with priority KOLs and emerging thought leaders, positioning BMS as a credible, science-forward partner in a new disease area for the company
  • Partner closely with Medical Affairs (MSL team and Medical Directors) to ensure commercial and medical KOL engagement is coordinated, clearly delineated, compliant, and mutually reinforcing — maximizing the collective impact of BMS's external scientific engagement
  • Plan and execute commercial KOL programs, including advisory boards, promotional speaker development, and peer-to-peer educational events — ensuring timely insight capture and actionable readouts that inform brand strategy and planning
  • Develop and maintain a KOL governance model, including goal-setting, tracking, and performance evaluation for KOL engagement activities
  • Own the end-to-end U.S. commercial congress strategy and execution for ADP, across pre-launch and post-launch timeframes and across priority medical congresses in neurology, psychiatry, geriatrics, LTC, and related fields (e.g., ADPD, IPA, AAIC, GAPNA, ASCP, GSA, ADCD, CTAD)
  • Define and execute BMS's commercial presence, messaging objectives, booth strategy, and HCP engagement activations at priority congresses, aligned to brand market shaping goals and the evolving ADP scientific platform
  • Partner with Medical Affairs colleagues on symposia, CME programming, and scientific presentations to ensure commercial and medical objectives are integrated and mutually reinforcing at key congresses
  • Manage all congress-related commercial logistics, vendor relationships, and activities on time, on budget, and in full compliance with BMS policies and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Capture and synthesize insights from congress interactions and feed them back systematically into brand strategy and planning cycles
  • Develop and manage the professional promotional medical education strategy for ADP, including peer-to-peer programs, speaker bureau development and management, and HCP-facing educational content
  • Oversee the development, review, and deployment of promotional and educational materials for KOL engagement, speaker programs, and congress activations — ensuring scientific accuracy, message consistency, and full compliance with promotional review requirements
  • Ensure that medical education programming is directly tied to the brand's strategic imperatives
  • Identify opportunities to leverage medical education platforms (e.g., symposia, speaker programs, digital CME) as vehicles for HCP behavioral change aligned to the brand's pre-launch objectives
  • Manage agency and vendor relationships for medical education execution, including budget oversight, scope management, and performance accountability
  • Collaborate effectively with Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Legal/Regulatory/Compliance to ensure KOL and Med Ed programs are fully aligned and executed with excellence
  • Contribute to brand planning processes by providing insights from KOL interactions, congress activity, and medical education programming
  • Establish a working cadence with cross-functional partners to drive execution, manage program dependencies, and integrate field insights into brand strategy and optimization
  • Own program budgets and forecasting for KOL engagement, congress, and medical education workstreams — ensuring on-time delivery, financial accountability, and execution in full compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements
