Job summary

Iridium is seeking a Director, Software Engineering Ground Systems Development to lead a large software organization responsible for ground systems software supporting satellite constellations for DoD/IC programs. You’ll report to the VP of Engineering and drive design, development, testing and deployment of mission-critical ground software.

Active TS/SCI eligibility and a current TS/SCI/Top Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret U.S. security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Experience leading large software engineering teams in DoD/IC or similar government programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high performing software engineering team for ground systems development and sustainment.
• Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers to drive effective ground development deliverables.
• Mentor engineers, evaluate performance and provide solutions to improve effectiveness.
• Oversee staffing and skills development for the Ground Software Development team and new government projects.
• Lead cross-functional projects to optimize operational performance and meet program objectives.
• Ensure delivery of key technical milestones and objectives.
• Develop strategic plans for evolving development skills, tools, and processes.
