Job summary

MP Materials is seeking a Director of Account Management to lead engagement with government customers and defense contractors from MP Materials’ Washington, DC office. This role will drive government solicitation responses, manage strategic relationships, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet customer and program objectives.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in government procurement, deep FAR/DFARS knowledge, and an established network across DoW and the defense-industrial base.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in government procurement or government solicitation response.
• Experience with DoW or defense sector.
• Expert in FAR/DFARS procurement processes.
• Strong network with DoW and defense contractors.
• Experience with large, complex contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of ERP and quality systems in manufacturing.
• Excellent briefing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead MP Materials’ response to government solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, BAAs, OTAs).
• Build and manage relationships with DoW, military service branches, and defense contractors.
• Serve as primary account manager for government customers from contact to contract to roll-out.
• Provide subject matter expertise in U.S. procurement processes and acquisition strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and customer objectives.
• Ensure internal communication of customer needs is translated into action.
• Lead negotiations and ensure timely, compliant submissions.
• Travel to MP facilities and key accounts as needed.
