Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks a Director for Global Transaction Tax to serve as a trusted advisor on US international tax issues for US and global deals. You will work with partners and teams across borders, delivering due diligence, modeling reviews, and strategic tax planning.

The role requires deep international tax expertise, strong communication, and the ability to manage time-sensitive work in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• CPA, JD (with bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred), or LLM required.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in a mergers & acquisitions tax practice at a Big 4 or Big Law firm, and at least 4+ years in US international tax.
• Strong writing, analytical, research, Excel, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, project management, and business development skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform due diligence reviewing US tax returns, financials and other tax docs to assess international tax risks and opportunities.
• Review and comment on US international tax aspects of financial models and purchase agreements.
• Coordinate with federal, transfer pricing and non-US teams to deliver high-quality work product.
• Advise on US international tax implications of deal structures, financing and repatriation.
• Assist with global tax restructurings and planning; stay current on US international tax developments.
• Build client relationships and collaborate across Tax and the firm.
