Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) in Chicago is seeking a seasoned professional to lead national-security focused risk analysis and compliance projects. The role involves evaluating regulatory regimes, guiding clients through complex control frameworks, and delivering clear, polished work for high-stakes engagements.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop market-facing materials, and contribute to thought leadership while advancing client outcomes in government-focused environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree strongly preferred.
• Experience as a compliance or national security professional and program leader in a company, firm, or government.
• Excellent research and writing capabilities; able to produce polished work.
• Proficient with office tools (MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead projects on U.S. international trade and technology security controls.
• Assess client compliance with ITAR, EAR, and other regimes.
• Audit and enhance clients’ international trade and security posture.
• Interface with clients to deliver high‑quality work products.
• Develop collateral, thought leadership, and market-facing projects.
• Collaborate across teams and internal initiatives.
