Job summary

Thomson Reuters seeks a Director, Global Sourcing to build and lead a stand-alone JV's sourcing and procurement function, including contracts, category strategy, RFPs, and supplier management. You will oversee a team supporting analytics and vendor management, partnering with General Counsel on compliance and risk.

This role blends strategic design with hands-on execution across direct materials and indirect spend.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain in manufacturing/packaging.
• 5+ years leading a team with analytics or category sourcing.
• Experience standing up or scaling a sourcing function in JV or carve-out.
• Proven cost savings and avoidance across direct/indirect spend.
• Hands-on RFPs/RFx and supplier contract negotiations.
• Experience with S2C platforms and spend analytics.
• Collaboration with General Counsel on contracts/trade compliance.
• Global materials knowledge: paper, ink, chemicals, packaging.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically/internationally.

Responsibilities

• Stand up the JV's sourcing operating model and direct spend visibility.
• Lead policy, approvals, and procurement governance.
• Direct major RFx events and negotiate pricing/terms with suppliers.
• Own supplier relationship management for critical vendors.
• Drive cost savings, cost-avoidance, and should-cost models.
• Analyze total procurement costs and build negotiation strategies.
• Track markets for paper, ink, logistics, and packaging trends.
• Partner with General Counsel on contracts and compliance.
• Direct analytics to build spend dashboards and S2C tool deployment.
• Oversee technology/business-systems sourcing for the JV.
• Hire, lead, and develop a small sourcing team.
• Lead transition of contracts/systems from seller to JV.
