Job description

PandaDoc is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Solutions Engineering to lead our Solutions Engineering department. As the head of this critical function, you will be responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of the entire Solutions Engineering team. This includes overseeing a group of engineering managers and a team of approximately 20 individual contributors. You will be accountable for shaping the future of how PandaDoc supports customers through technical expertise, integrations, and solutions.

As the Director, you will have a strategic influence on shaping our solutions engineering processes, tools, and overall approach to delivering best-in-class solutions to our clients. You will foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven environment where your team can thrive and drive impactful outcomes for PandaDoc and its customers.

In this role, you will:

Lead and mentor a diverse team of Solutions Engineering Managers and individual contributors, setting clear goals and performance metrics to ensure successful customer outcomes.
Develop and implement strategies to scale solutions engineering capabilities, including hiring, training, and professional development of the team.
Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
Oversee the execution of complex product implementations, integrations, and custom solutions for customers.
Drive technical excellence within the Solutions Engineering team, ensuring that team members are equipped with the skills and resources necessary to provide exceptional support to customers.
Partner with the Sales team to provide technical expertise during the sales cycle, including conducting technical discovery sessions, solution presentations, and demonstrations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and success.
Establish and refine internal processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Solutions Engineering team, including documentation, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
Monitor industry trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to inform product development and improve PandaDoc’s solution offerings.
Provide regular reporting on team performance, customer success metrics, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership.

About you:

8+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, with at least 4 years managing teams of engineering professionals in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing technical teams, including managers and individual contributors.
Strong technical background with experience in SaaS, document automation, or related fields.
Excellent understanding of solution architecture, integrations, and the software development lifecycle.
Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while also executing tactically.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in managing complex customer engagements, including technical sales support, solutioning, and post-sales implementation.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and adapt to shifting priorities.

It would be awesome if you had:

Experience with PandaDoc or similar document automation platforms.
Familiarity with API-based integrations and advanced technical solutions.
Strong background in enterprise software or cloud-based solutions.
