Job Summary:

iHerb is seeking an experienced and results-driven Global Social Media Director to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive global social media strategy that accelerates brand growth, engagement, and revenue. Reporting to the VP of Global Ecommerce and Marketing Operations, this role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of social media, influencer marketing, and social commerce. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in eCommerce marketing, driving innovation, and scaling digital initiatives.

As the head of iHerb’s global social media team, this role will set the strategic vision, build and mentor a high-performing team, and oversee execution across platforms and regions. An ideal candidate will leverage data-driven insights to optimize performance, foster meaningful partnerships, and implement cutting-edge digital strategies that position iHerb as a leader in the industry. This role demands a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about transforming social media into a brand and business success driver.

Job Expectations:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement iHerb’s global social media strategy, ensuring alignment with overarching business and marketing objectives.
  • Team Development: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing global social media, content creation and influencer marketing team, ensuring efficient collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Content Strategy & Creation: Oversee the development of engaging, high-quality content tailored for various social media platforms, ensuring brand consistency and audience relevance.
  • Influencer & Creator Partnerships: Lead the strategy for influencer marketing, identifying and fostering relationships with key creators to enhance brand reach and engagement.
  • Social Commerce Acceleration: Drive the integration of social commerce strategies, working closely with eCommerce and marketing teams to maximize sales through platforms like TikTok Shop, Instagram, and Meta.
  • Platform Expertise & Expansion: Maintain deep expertise in major social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, Pinterest) and emerging trends, ensuring iHerb remains at the forefront of digital engagement.
  • Performance Measurement & Optimization: Utilize social media analytics tools to track KPIs, analyze engagement data, and optimize strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams to align social media initiatives with broader company objectives.
  • Community Engagement: Oversee customer engagement efforts, ensuring timely and authentic interactions that enhance brand trust and loyalty.
  • Global Market Adaptation: Tailor social media strategies to meet the needs of diverse international markets, leveraging local insights and platform preferences.
  • Compliance & Brand Safety: Ensure adherence to social media policies, legal regulations, and best practices to protect the brand's reputation.
  • Emerging Trends & Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, experimenting with new tools and approaches to drive innovation in iHerb’s social media strategy.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  • Proven global social media strategy expertise, influencer marketing, and social commerce.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with experience managing a high-performing team.
  • Excellent content strategy and development capabilities for storytelling and brand positioning.
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Meta, X, YouTube, Pinterest) and their evolving algorithms.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics tools like Meta Business Manager, Sprout Social, and Google Analytics.
  • Strong communication skills, including copywriting, visual storytelling, and audience engagement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Experience working with international markets and understanding regional social media nuances.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in social media management, influencer marketing, or digital marketing, preferably in a global eCommerce environment or marketing agency.
  • Demonstrated experience leading social media campaigns at scale, driving engagement, and increasing ROI.
  • Proven track record of managing influencer partnerships and social commerce initiatives.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
