The Global Director of SIOP will design, implement and continuously improve the global Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning operating system for Columbus McKinnon. The role connects demand, supply, capacity, inventory, procurement and finance across multiple business units, manufacturing plants and product families, with an aspired 18-month forward planning horizon. The leader will create a practical, executive-ready SIOP environment that can operate across a mixed digital landscape including SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP IBP, Anaplan, local ERP instances, planning tools and Power BI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Global SIOP Operating Model - Design and deploy the enterprise SIOP framework, including demand, supply, inventory, financial reconciliation, and executive S&OP decision forums; establish standard work, roles, decision rights, cadence, templates, and governance across global, regional, and site teams.
  • Executive S&OP Cadence - Lead the monthly executive S&OP cycle with clear decisions on demand risk, supply constraints, capacity, inventory, customer service, backlog, and cash impact; maintain a controlled decision log linking actions to S&OE execution.
Cross-Functional Alignment - Build adoption and planning discipline across Commercial, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Product Management, IT, and site leadership.
  • ERP & Data Harmonization - Harmonize planning data across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, IBP, Anaplan, and local ERPs; define data ownership, refresh cadence, master-data standards, exception logic, and control points.
  • Executive KPI & Reporting Layer - Create and maintain a cross-system KPI hierarchy and Power BI reporting layer that standardizes metrics, supports executive dashboards, and feeds the monthly S&OP deck.
  • Executive Storytelling & Financial Reconciliation - Translate data into clear executive narratives on changes, drivers, required decisions, risks, and financial/service impact; collaborate with Finance to reconcile volume, mix, backlog, inventory, productivity, and savings to EBITDA-relevant outcomes.
  • SIOP-S&OE Integration - Define handoffs between monthly SIOP decisions and weekly/daily S&OE execution; ensure operational realities (shortages, schedule adherence, supplier misses, capacity constraints) feed back into demand, supply, inventory, and supplier development assumptions.
  • Operational Improvement Routines - Develop routines for backlog recovery, RCCM, forecast sharing, supplier capacity balancing, and lead-time optimization.
  • Inventory, Service & Risk Management - Lead planning actions to improve inventory turns, DIO, excess/obsolete reduction, working capital, OTIF, and backlog; build supplier-facing mechanisms for forecast sharing, continuity planning, OTD improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Value Capture & Procurement Integration - Connect SIOP outputs to material productivity, PPV, savings realization, runout timing, and P&L impact; identify demand/supply imbalances and lead cross-functional mitigation plans.
  • Planning Maturity Development - Conduct site and regional maturity assessments to identify gaps in planning process, ERP usage, master data, analytics, and organizational capability.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
  • Deep knowledge of SIOP/S&OP/S&OE processes, demand/supply planning, master scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Strong capability navigating ERP and planning systems.
  • Ability to define data standards, KPI logic, exception rules, and cross system harmonization.
  • Skilled at converting complex planning inputs into clear executive narratives, decisions, and trade off recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of volume/mix, backlog, inventory, productivity, and financial reconciliation to EBITDA relevant outcomes.
  • Proven ability to build adoption, coach planning teams, and elevate organizational planning capability.
  • Ability to identify root causes, drive RCCM, improve master data, and strengthen planning discipline across sites and regions.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations planning, materials management, demand/supply planning, or IBP.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and driving performance.
  • 5+ years leading SIOP/S&OP/IBP or master scheduling in complex, multi site manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working across multiple ERP and planning platforms (SAP S/4HANA, ECC, IBP, Anaplan).
  • Demonstrated ability to build executive dashboards, KPI governance, and cross functional decision forums.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or Data/Analytics required; MBA preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to manufacturing sites and regional leadership locations.
