Job description

Overview

The Director, Global Procure-to-Pay (P2P) leads the day-to-day design, operation and improvement of the end-to-end procurement and accounts payable processes across a global organization, reporting to the SVP, Procure to Pay. The Director turns the P2P redesign into practice: baselining the current-state process, building the target operating model and roadmap, closing control gaps, and delivering automated reporting. This role oversees the organization's shared service center operations in India and serves as the voice of the business in the financial process.

The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, project management, and change management capabilities, with experience designing and optimizing procurement and accounts payable organizations in a complex, multinational environment. This role will serve as a key partner to the Controller on accounting controls and account reconciliations, to the NetSuite team on the technology platform, and to Finance, Technology, and Business Operations leaders to deliver operational excellence, compliance, cost savings, and scalable growth.

Responsibilities
  • Own the global end-to-end Procure-to-Pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment execution, and supplier management, and manage the details of how the process runs day to day
  • Baseline the current-state end-to-end P2P process, documenting process steps, volumes, systems, handoffs, controls, and pain points, and use the findings to shape the redesign
  • Develop and maintain the P2P target operating model and redesign roadmap in partnership with the SVP, and lead its execution
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to drive efficiency and continuous improvement, and develop automated reporting and dashboards that replace manual reporting
  • Drive automation initiatives and leverage technology solutions to improve cycle times, accuracy, and customer experience
  • Serve as the voice of the business in the financial process, bringing requester, budget owner, and supplier needs into P2P design and finance decisions, and act as the point of contact for escalations from external and internal stakeholders

Accounts Payable Function Design

  • Design the target accounts payable operating model, including organization structure, roles and responsibilities, tiered support model, service levels, and the division of work between the India shared service center, onshore staff, and automation
  • Design the end-to-end invoice-to-pay workflow, including invoice intake channels, data capture and coding, two-way and three-way match rules and tolerances, exception handling, duplicate detection, and non-PO invoice handling
  • Define approval routing aligned to the delegation of authority, including approver hierarchies, thresholds, delegation and backup rules, and escalation of aged approvals
  • Design payment processes, including payment run schedules, terms management, payment methods, early-pay discount capture, vendor bank-change verification, and remittance
  • Establish payment reconciliation processes that tie payments to bank activity and the general ledger on a defined cadence, with clear ownership of exceptions and aged items
  • Design vendor master data governance, including onboarding and verification, tax documentation, periodic review, and deactivation
  • Embed segregation of duties across requisition, approval, receiving, invoice entry, vendor maintenance, and payment, and review system access against these rules on a recurring basis
  • Define AP month-end close activities with the Controller, including cutoff, accruals for received-not-invoiced items, AP sub-ledger to general ledger tie-out, and aging review
  • Design AP support for tax and statutory reporting, including 1099, sales and use tax, VAT, and withholding, in partnership with the Tax team

Procurement Function

  • Lead the development and maturation of a global procurement organization, including governance, policies, procedures, and operating models.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders across all functions, not only the technology organization, to identify sourcing opportunities and improve procurement compliance and spend visibility.
  • Implement procurement best practices to support cost optimization, risk mitigation, and supplier performance management.
  • Develop supplier management and vendor governance frameworks that align with organizational objectives.

Shared Service Management

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership of the India-based shared service center supporting procurement and accounts payable operations.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service excellence.
