Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Director of Onsite Power Generation to lead the enterprise strategy for onsite, behind-the-meter, and co-sited power across its global data center portfolio. You will define how power can accelerate capacity, resilience, and sustainability while managing cost and risk.

The role requires coordinating with Energy, Design & Construction, Operations, Finance, and Legal to implement a consistent operating model and scalable project pipeline across regions.

Qualifications

• Experience in data center energy or mission-critical infrastructure.
• Leadership of cross-functional programs and complex initiatives.
• Experience building enterprise strategy and operating models across regions.

Responsibilities

• Own and refine the global onsite power generation strategy.
• Develop and maintain playbooks for site screening, architectures, and contracting.
• Partner with regional teams to adapt strategy to local market conditions.
• Establish a global pipeline and governance cadence for opportunities.
• Ensure OSPG solutions integrate with data center planning and operations.
• Standardize evaluation and contracting for various power technologies and arrangements.
• Lead strategic partnerships and negotiations with developers, utilities, and EPCs.
• Set standards for total cost of ownership, risk allocation, and performance guarantees.
• Define clear roles and escalation paths across global teams.
• Advise senior leaders on portfolio choices and roadmap.
